iOS 18: A New Home for Safari’s Find on Page feature. Where Is It?

A week after announcing its new iPhone 16 series, Apple Watch Series 10, and other items during its September event, Apple made iOS 18 available to the general public on September 16. RCS communications and the option to lock and conceal certain applications are just two of the numerous new capabilities that the update adds to your iPhone. Additionally, the update moves Safari’s Find on Page search feature to a different location, preventing you from inadvertently forwarding a webpage to a friend or relative.

Prior to iOS 18, in order to utilize Find on Page to search for a term in the Safari app on your iPhone, you had to hit the Share button, which is the box with the arrow pointing out of it, in the web page’s bottom menu before selecting Find on Page. However, there was a chance that you would inadvertently share a webpage on social media or transmit it to another app or person. To avoid that potentially embarrassing error, Find on Page has been moved to a new location, away from the Share button, in iOS 18.

To find Safari’s Find on Page on iOS 18, follow these steps.

In Safari, where is Find on Page?

Use Safari’s “Find on Page” feature.
In iOS 18, Find on Page gets a new home.

1. Launch Safari.
2. Visit a website.
3. Tap the Reader icon, which is located on the left side of the address bar and resembles a rectangle with two dashes below it.
4. Tap the symbol that resembles a page and magnifying glass in the new menu.

The functionality of Find on Page remains unchanged from earlier iterations of iOS: Safari will highlight all occurrences of the term you are looking for as soon as you begin typing on the keyboard across the bottom of your screen. You may use the up and down arrows to get to the next occurrence of the term you’re looking for, which are located directly above your keyboard to the right of your search box.

Additionally, you may access a menu by tapping the magnifying glass to the left of the search box. There are two choices on this menu: Match Case and Whole Words.

Searching for “sea” won’t highlight “searching” because Enabling Whole Words will prevent partial words from appearing in search results. Proper nouns may be found using Match Case. In this manner, your search will not emphasize all lowercase forms of sea if you’re looking for a specific sea, such as the Black Sea. Whole Words and Match Case may be enabled simultaneously, or you can use Find on Page without activating either, although the result will be less precise.

When you’re done, you may dismiss the keyboard and search bar by tapping Done next to it.
